Here you will find great hiking trails from 0-5 km in Nyborg and on East Funen. Many of the routes offer beautiful scenery and exciting historical sites.
Kongshøj Mølle Mill is one of the most picturesque places in East Funen. The mill is reflected in the lake, surrounded by beautiful yellow fields of rape. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the yellow rowing boat bobbing gently on the lake.
History is awash with legends about sacred springs and magical powers. One such spring is Regisse Kilde, which Hans Christian Andersen was inspired by during one of his many stays in East Funen.

Along the beach, neighbouring the Great Belt, is this small forest, which offers every opportunity for a walk, a run or a refreshing dip in the chilly water.
This scenic route is close to St. Knuds Golf Club and Nyborg Fjord. In this area there is a good mix of forest, park and nature characterized by large, old trees and a rich bird and animal life.
You can feel the history of the place as you step into the forest clearing. The giant stones testify to an honourable final journey – perhaps for an important local landowner or chief. Not far from here, you will find Denmark’s oldest preserved long barrow.
A green oasis with grazing cows. Go for a walk or a bike ride. The area around Bondemosen or on one of the bike routes offers a number of cosy experiences.
Come on a pleasant walk around Nyborg’s historic town centre and discover, among other things, the impressive fortress at Nyborg Castle with its ramparts and cannons. The tour takes you around Nyborg, the Heart of the Kingdom of Denmark.
If you are to experience one place in Nyborg, it’s the entire area around Nyborg Castle. The historic ramparts and moats surrounding the red-bricked castle. Immerse yourself in the history.
The valley is a tunnel valley from the Ice Age, and you can feel that there is a very special experience here in the valley itself. The babbling brook, the grazing cows.
The mills wheels turn merrily at Lille Mølle – one of Denmark’s best-preserved watermills, and Sunday coffee and cake are served at Sulkendrup Mølle overlooking the lake, while the sun shines down from a cloud-free sky. Hop on your bike and enjoy these two scenic gems.
The Kogsbølle Trail offers an exciting hike through the diverse nature of Eastern Funen. Follow the gorge along Kogsbølle Stream and experience the beautiful heath that has been used for grazing for centuries.
This is an incredibly scenic area offering some lovely walks. It is home to a wealth of birds, animals and unique flora thanks to Østerø Lake. Be sure to visit “knaldfyret”, the lighthouse and the Great Belt Bridge itself. The area is most definitely worth a visit.
Possibly the most important battle in Danish history. The decisive battle takes place on the fields in front of the Swedish-occupied royal city of Nyborg.
