Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) tailored to all skill levels using steel, wooden, or foam weapons. Stop by the experienced medieval stylist, offering both authentic and fantasy-inspired braids and updos.

13.30-14.00: Combat Show by the Saint Laurentius Fratrum
Witness the Warriors of the Saint Laurentius' Brotherhood showcase fierce combat with weapons and armor, and even test your skills against the armored fighters!

15.00-18.00: Hair Braiding and Combat School
Historical European Martial Arts (HEMA) tailored to all skill levels using steel, wooden, or foam weapons. Stop by the experienced medieval stylist, offering both authentic and fantasy-inspired braids and updos.

Come by Dragtlauget's stall at Borgmestergården and see the living dress-up dolls being dressed from the inside out.

Experience Snake Heights' signature fire show where the firebender masters flaming fire wands, dragon wands, fire spears and fire cones with precision and elegance.

16.30: Funny tales with Mikkel Langbue
The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with the tale of "The Eagle Ballad" at Borgmestergården.

 

The Tournament Square

10.00-14.00: Horse carriage ride in the medieval Nyborg
Experience Nyborg from a horse-drawn carriage. Ticket price: DKK 25 per person.

10.30: Impressive falconry show
Experience an amazing falconry display featuring the graceful Harris Hawk and the powerful falcon in action! You can also get acquainted with the birds at their tent within the festival grounds. Purchase a seat ticket for the grandstand here for DKK 30. There is free access to the accessible grandstand.

Fashion show at the Tournament Square – watch and learn about the beautiful medieval costumes.

Put on medieval attire and explore the Middle Ages in Nyborg Library's DaneLounge, or gather your friends for the open board game café and enjoy games such as Kingdomino, Castle Builder, or Carcassonne.

10.00-19.00: Hobby Horse Arena
Practice with your hobby horse for the great jousting tournament in the library's garden.

The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with the tale of "The Eagle Ballad".

20.00: Mead Tasting Experience at the Skjaldekroen Tent
Enter the Skjaldekroen tent and be transported to an era when kings raised their cups, and the poetry of skalds echoed through the great hall. Now, you can savor mead – the golden honey beverage, as it tastes today, brewed with respect for tradition and a passion for the craft. Tickets cost DKK 290 and can be purchased here.

11.00-15.00: Korsbrødrecafé in the Monk's Cellar
Korsbrødrecafé where you can buy historic beer, apple juice and sausages and consume it under a 15th-century ceiling with vaults.

11.00-11.45: Theatre Aspendos - "What Skalds Tell"
A performance for the whole family with children from 6 years, young people, and adults. In the church, the skalds stand ready with tales from the Middle Ages! The stories are told with a twinkle in the eye and a twitch in the legs – for both children and adults. The skalds recount their lives, about death, the plague, and the king, and about foot soldiers, the poor, and women, and other everyday torments. And they tell of heroes they see themselves in – and we see ourselves in their stories!

12.30-13.15: Guided tour of the church by medieval archaeologist Kirstin Eliasen
Free admission.

14.00-15.00: Lecture: "Christian Mysticism – From the World of the Middle Ages." With Aksel Haaning, historian of philosophy, PhD.
An eminent introduction to the medieval world of thought, including Augustine, Bernard of Clairvaux, Francis of Assisi, and Meister Eckhart. Takes place in Korsbrødregården's lecture hall. Free admission.

15.30-16.15: Guided tour of the church by medieval archaeologist Kirstin Eliasen
