Programme Saturday 10.00 – 22.30

Play & Camp on Nyborg Ramparts

10.00-19.00: Activities and stalls are open
Play and learn lots of exciting experiences from the Middle Ages.

10.00-19.00: Archery and crossbow shooting
Test your skills on the bow and the crossbow - how well can you hit the target?
Price: DKK 20 per person.

10.00-19.00: The Warriors’ Camp
Experience the exciting camp life and listen to stories about war and everyday life in the Middle Ages.

10.00-19.00: Children’s Treasure Hunt
Find a Danehof Treasure map and do your best to solve all the tasks. The more you can solve, the more gold coins you can collect at Borgmestergården!

10.00-12.00: Horseback riding
Catch a ride from the Warriors' Camp to Landporten.
Price: DKK 40 per person.

10.00-10.45: Music from the Middle Ages
The 4 bards from Moro travel from town to town, collecting stories and legends.
When they take the stage you are guaranteed a blast.

14.00: Funny tales with Mikkel Langbue
The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with mad medieval tales by the Water Tower.

14.30: Prepare for battle
Experience the atmosphere when the soldiers put on and take off their heavy armor before the battle at the tournament site – by the Water Tower.

15.00-17.00: Horseback riding
Catch a ride from the Warriors' Camp to Landporten.
Price: DKK 40 per person.


Borgmestergården

10.00-19.00: Borgmestergården (the Mayor’s Residence) is open
Visit the museum giftshop or browse through the special exhibition ‘The Island Sprogø – Thousand Years Of History’.

10.00-19.00: Children’s Treasure Hunt
Find a Danehof Treasure map and do your best to solve all the tasks. The more you can solve, the more gold coins you can collect at Borgmestergården!

10.30: Danehof dance for all
Take a spin and dance along in the Danehof dance at the Mayor’s Residence.

11.00: Juggling with Maximus Heratikus
Come and see the Medieval court joker, Maximus Heraticus’ pranks and juggling on the square in front of the Mayor’s Residence. 

16.00: Medieval fashion show
Fashion show in front of the Mayor’s Residence – watch and learn about the beautiful medieval costumes.

16.30: Funny tales with Mikkel Langbue
The storyteller Mikkel Langbue entertains children and childish souls with mad medieval tales in the courtyard of the Mayor’s Residence.


Tournament Square

12.30: Play at the Town Square
Learn about the story for this year’s Danehof in the live performance with Queen Margrete I.

13.00: Knight Tournament with clubs
Watch the armored knights on fiery horses fight with clubs on the grand tournament field in the heart of the city. Purchase a seat ticket for the tribune at danehof.dk. Price DKK 30.

15.00: Great Battle with the Queen’s Warriors
The Queen’s warriors fight in a great battle on foot on the Knight Tournament Square.

Encounter Skramle & Blæsekonen as they walk the streets and entertain in true medieval fashion.

Meet the playful monkey Nybbe and his good friend Regitze in the streets of Nyborg, and get a cheeky monkey hug.
Nybbe enjoys culture and music, and he loves monkeying around. 

13.40-14.00: Teater Figuletta
Encounter the farmers in Nyborg’s shopping streets.

14.00-15.00: Stilt performance
Experience humorous dancing and interacting characters on stilts.

The King's Pantry

10.00-19.00: The food area is open
Experience the food area and explore the many exciting food stalls. Here you will find popcorn, soft ice, churros, coffee and cake, savory pancakes, roasted pork sandwiches, sausages, and many other delicious things.

 

Vor Frue Church

10.00-18.00: Nyborg Vor Frue Church is open  
Experience the beautiful church. Please note that the church is closed from 13.00-15.00 due to a wedding ceremony.

10.00-19.00: Children’s Treasure Hunt

10.00-14.00: Chalk painting workshop for children and adults
Held by Stine Frederiksen, church and cultural worker in Nyborg church. You will try the same techniques as they did in the Middle Ages and everyone, both children and adults, is welcome. However, the workshop is best suited for ages 6 and older. The workshop will be held on the 1st floor in Korsbrødregården.

11.00-16.00: Korsbrødrecafé in the monk cellar
Korsbrødrecafé where you can buy historic beer, apple juice and sausages and consume it under a 15th-century ceiling with vaults.

14.00-15.15: ”Bondens billeder” – a lecture about chalk paintings from Late Middle Ages
The lecture will take place in Korsbrødregården and is about ordinary people's perception of Christianity, the farmer's fear of witches and everyday life and work - sex and drinking.

16.00-17.00: Mass and song with Horsens Munkekor
Horsens Munkekor invites everyone to experience the oldest recorded music in Western civilization with the Gregorian chant with unison and flowing rhythm.

18.00-21.00: Medieval Flavors
Experience and taste the special knowledge that medieval monks cultivated in the monastery gardens. In the monk cellar of the Korsbrødregården, there will be a fusion of the spiritual life of monkhood, contemplation and knowledge into a menu adapted to the story of food, medicine and herbs. During the tasting, the guests are presented with a lecture and dishes that together make up the experience of monk life.

The King's Ship Bridge

10.00-02.00: The Harbor Tavern
Get together and chill with cold draft beers, refreshing drinks, and music.

10.00-20.00: ’Kok Med Kul På’ 
Whole roasted pig, potato salad, and grilled sausages with side dishes.

10.00-18.00: Come aboard the fantastic caravels
The historic wooden ships Lisa von Lübeck and Kieler Hansekogge are docked at Nyborg Harbor, and it is possible to hop aboard whenever they are not on any sailing trips. – Price: DKK 30.
Refreshments can be purchased by cash only.

11.00-13.00: Adventurous voyage

17.00: Danehof dance for all

Take a spin and dance along in the Danehof dance.

19.00-21.00: ’Smag på Kongens Vinkælder’
Winetasting with vines from local vineyards in the King’s Pantry - Nyborg Len aboard the historic Hansekogge ship, which are docked at the Harbor during Danehof.
4 different white wines are tasted from different vineyards accompanied by historian and sommelier Svend Ydo Jacobsen. Enjoy Nyborg Len's finest wines and enjoy the view of Danehof from the seaside, while you will be expertly guided through the tasting and the Danish cultural history of wine.

Warm up by the 4 bards from Moro before the grand fireworks show.

Laugh and have a laugh - and be amazed by cool tricks when Lars U takes the stage at Slaraffenland again this year with mischief, fun, and pranks.

11.30: Nybbeshow – Hide and Seek
See the mascot Nybbe and his good friend, the cleaning lady Regitze.
