This is an incredibly scenic area offering some lovely walks. It is home to a wealth of birds, animals and unique flora thanks to Østerø Lake. Be sure to visit “knaldfyret”, the lighthouse and the Great Belt Bridge itself. The area is most definitely worth a visit.

You can feel the history of the place as you step into the forest clearing. The giant stones testify to an honourable final journey – perhaps for an important local landowner or chief. Not far from here, you will find Denmark’s oldest preserved long barrow.

Kongshøj Mølle Mill is one of the most picturesque places in East Funen. The mill is reflected in the lake, surrounded by beautiful yellow fields of rape. If you’re lucky, you’ll see the yellow rowing boat bobbing gently on the lake.

Hans Christian Andersen was a regular visitor to Glorup and wrote in a letter: “It’s a stay very much to my liking, a manor house in Italian style and with a garden like English parks.” We agree. It’s quite the fairy tale to visit Glorup.
