Svindinge is a small village outside Nyborg. The town is enriched with a cozy and active village environment. It has a beautiful surrounding landscape with rolling fields and flowering meadows.
The sword splinters the shields in the battle for Denmark. One of the places that was fortified in the early days was Magelund, one of Denmark’s strongest and thus most important strongholds.
Everyone heads to “Strandvænget” – or Strandhøj as it’s known today. The park with its bonfire pits and play areas borders the beach and woodland. It’s perfect for outings, walks and bike rides. There’s an MTB trail in the woods, and a lovely long, undisturbed beach.
Hans Christian Andersen was a regular visitor to Glorup and wrote in a letter: “It’s a stay very much to my liking, a manor house in Italian style and with a garden like English parks.” We agree. It’s quite the fairy tale to visit Glorup.
Kilometres of flowering chestnut trees or a wetland with abundant wildlife? Why choose when you can have both? Ravnholt Manor, with its deer park and chestnut avenues, is a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy the Danish countryside.
The evening sun goes down and the birds land on the mirror-like Holckenhavn Fjord. That is often just how it is. Enjoy the countryside here along paths following a disused railway, through bogs and salt marshes, past castle mounds and sacred springs.
